At McCosh Family Dentistry, we understand that circumstances can change suddenly. If you need to cancel or postpone your dental appointment, all we as is that you give as much notice as possible. By letting us know at least 24 hours in advance, we can make changes to our schedule to accommodate as many other patients in need of dental services as possible.
One of the ways we do this is by creating a dental appointment waiting list. When we get last-minute openings due to unexpected cancellations or rescheduling, we attempt to fill those appointments by calling people who signed up for our waiting list.
Benefits of a Waiting List
From the dental provider’s perspective, the waiting list helps eliminate gaps in the schedule. When our dental professionals are at work, it is most efficient to keep busy all day long.
But for patients, a waiting list is also beneficial because it allows McCosh Family Dentistry to offer essential dental services in a timely manner without having to reschedule appointments weeks or even months after the cancellation.
If something comes up and you can’t make your dental appointment, give us a call and let us know. In all likelihood, we will attempt to reschedule your appointment as soon as possible. In the meantime, we may ask if you want to be added to our waiting list. Then, when another patient cancels — while still giving at least 24 hours notice — we can call the people on the list and offer that appointment to them on a first-come, first-served basis.
Timely Dental Services
Obviously, the optimal option is to keep your dental appointments. But if something comes up that can’t be avoided — such as a child’s sickness, something urgent at work that can’t wait, or another life disruption — we will try to accommodate you as much as possible by both rescheduling your appointment and offering you our waiting list.
